Competitive team

SRG Academy

The competitive pathway at Flawless Gymnastics, for gymnasts ready to take their training further.

Where growth meets results

At SRG Academy we believe success in rhythmic gymnastics is about more than medals. We focus on developing strong, confident, disciplined athletes while helping each gymnast reach their highest potential in the sport.

We are proud to develop State Champions, Regional Champions and National-level athletes who continue to represent our academy with dedication and excellence. Behind every result are countless hours of training, perseverance, trust and teamwork.

Our goal is not only to raise successful gymnasts, but to help young athletes develop the confidence, discipline, resilience and love for the sport that will stay with them far beyond the competition floor. We are proud of how far our athletes have come, and even more excited for what comes next.

Placement is by invitation: our coaches assess readiness individually, and gymnasts usually join through Pre-Team rather than moving straight onto a competitive level.

Levels & what each one asks

How gymnasts join

Most athletes come through Pre-Team, our developmental program, and enter at Level 3. Placement is by evaluation and coach approval.

Apparatus by level

At each level gymnasts train and compete with the apparatus assigned to that level for the current season. Requirements change as athletes progress and as USA Gymnastics rules are updated.

Placed on readiness

Gymnasts are placed by skill, preparation, maturity and competitive readiness rather than age alone. Advancement is not automatic at the end of a season.

Level 3 2.5 – 3 hrs · 3 days a week Recommended ages 6 and up

The introductory competitive program at SRG Academy, for gymnasts who have built a strong foundation and are ready to begin competing. Training covers flexibility, strength, ballet fundamentals, dance, body technique, musicality, beginner acrobatics, apparatus handling and routine preparation.

Athletes learn to memorize complete routines, perform to music, apply corrections and build confidence in a competitive setting. Enrollment is by evaluation and coach approval.

  • Monday 4:00 – 6:30 PM · Wednesday 4:00 – 6:30 PM + Ballet 6:30 – 7:30 PM · Friday 4:00 – 6:30 PM

Moving up to Level 4

Improved flexibility, strength and body alignment; correct fundamental jumps, balances and pivots; confident handling of the assigned apparatus; and routines completed consistently with music. Attendance, focus, work ethic, competition readiness and the ability to apply corrections are all considered.

Level 4 4 days a week Recommended ages 7 and up

For competitive gymnasts ready to develop more challenging body and apparatus skills, and to improve the quality and consistency of their routines. Training covers flexibility, strength and conditioning, ballet, dance, acrobatics, body difficulties, apparatus technique, musicality, artistry and competition preparation.

Athletes work towards cleaner execution, more confident apparatus handling, better stamina and stronger performance quality. Ballet is a required part of the Level 4 program.

  • Tuesday 4:30 – 7:30 PM · Wednesday 4:00 – 6:30 PM + Ballet 6:30 – 7:30 PM · Thursday 4:30 – 7:30 PM · Friday 4:00 – 7:30 PM

Moving up to Level 5

Strong physical preparation, consistent execution of the required body difficulties, reliable handling of the assigned apparatus, improved routine quality, musicality, independence, and readiness for additional training hours. Advancement is decided by the coaching staff and is not based on competition results alone.

Level 5 4 days a week Recommended ages 8 and up

An intermediate competitive program for gymnasts with a strong technical foundation who are ready for more advanced routines and increased training hours. Training covers advanced flexibility, strength and conditioning, ballet, dance, acrobatics, body difficulties, apparatus combinations, risks, artistry and routine consistency.

Athletes are expected to become more independent, responsible and consistent, and to perform with confidence and expression. Ballet is a required part of the Level 5 program.

  • Tuesday & Thursday Ballet 4:00 – 5:00 PM, Training 5:00 – 8:00 PM
  • Friday 4:00 – 8:00 PM · Saturday 12:00 – 4:00 PM

Moving up to Level 6

Advanced flexibility and strength, clean execution of the required body difficulties, confident control of the assigned apparatus, reliable routine performance, strong stamina, musicality and emotional readiness for higher-level competition. Consistent attendance, responsibility and commitment to the full training schedule are required.

Level 6–7 5 days a week Recommended ages 9 and up

Advanced competitive programs for dedicated athletes pursuing higher-level goals in rhythmic gymnastics. Training covers advanced body difficulties, complex apparatus combinations, risks, dynamic elements with rotation, ballet, dance, acrobatics, flexibility, conditioning, artistry, routine consistency and mental preparation.

Individual routines are created around each athlete's level, age, strengths and long-term development plan. Athletes are expected to show a high level of responsibility, discipline, independence and commitment. Ballet is a required part of the Levels 6–7 program.

  • Monday 4:00 – 8:00 PM · Friday 4:00 – 8:00 PM · Saturday 12:00 – 5:00 PM
  • Tuesday & Thursday Ballet 4:00 – 5:00 PM, Training 5:00 – 8:30 PM

Advancement and continued placement

Based on technical preparation, routine consistency, competition performance, attendance, work ethic, physical and emotional readiness, and the ability to meet the expectations of the next level. All placement decisions are made by the coaching staff with each gymnast's safety, progress and long-term development in mind.

Team expectations

What we ask of team families

Team gymnasts follow the same class expectations as everyone else, arriving prepared, looking after shared equipment, and supporting their teammates. Those are answered on the questions page.

What's different at team level is the commitment: routines are built as a group, so attendance shapes everyone's season, and competition brings entry fees and travel. Our full attendance and make-up policy sets out how missed classes work.

Private lessons are available to team gymnasts as well as recreational students, useful before a competition or to work a single apparatus. See private lessons.
